After Turkey invaded North-East Syria on October 9, Syrian Kurds who collaborated with the United States during the war against IS became targets of revenge. Janet Biehl’s friend Hassan and his brother were among them – right away they fled for their lives to Iraqi Kurdistan, along with their families and thousands of other Syrian Kurds. Now Hassan and family are applying for asylum in France. The prospects are good, but they need help getting there. Could UUs step forward?
