OWL (Our Whole Lives)
Our Whole Lives is a lifespan comprehensive sexuality education curriculum. The First Unitarian Universalist Society is proud to offer these age-appropriate classes for groups from kindergarten through 8th grade. We do not currently offer adult OWL, but hope to in the future.
Interactive workshops and activities engage participants, preparing them to make informed and responsible decisions about their relationships, sexual health and behavior. With a holistic approach, Our Whole Lives provides accurate, developmentally appropriate information about a range of topics, including relationships, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, sexual health, and cultural influences on sexuality.
Our OWL programs are open to children in the broader Burlington area community, as well as our own congregation. The content of Our Whole Lives is secular, but it is not value-free. The program gives clear messages about self worth, sexual health, responsibility, justice and inclusivity.
