Rev. Barnaby Feder – Guest Minister
Mary Beth McNulty – Worship Associate
This weekend we celebrate the July 4, 1776 proclamation by 13 English colonies ranging from New Hampshire south to Georgia that they had united to fight for freedom from the English monarchy. Their Declaration of Independence and eventual unlikely victory on the battlefield left them with an even more daunting challenge. What kind of nation would they create? Rev. Barnaby Feder reflects on how tenuous their answer is looking this July 4 and what UU’s are called to proclaim now in response.
Rev. Barnaby Feder is a lifelong UU raised in our San Mateo, CA congregation. His turn to ministry followed a long reporting career with The New York Times, primarily covering business and technology. Rev. Barnaby has served UU congregations in Morristown, NJ, Stroudsburg, Pa.. the Champlain Valley UU Society in Middlebury (2012-2023) and, from 2023 until last week, St. Johnsbury.
