While coming together on Sunday morning is a wonderful way to feel inspired and nurtured, many of us are also seeking to be part of a community—to get to know others more deeply, to share experiences, and to offer and receive support throughout our journeys. First UU Society of Burlington is a large congregation and a very busy place so it can be hard to know where to start. If you are new to us, we encourage you to take our New UU orientation sessions which provide a great introduction to Unitarian Universalism and congregational life at the First UU Society.

We encourage everyone—whether you are new or have been here for decades—to get involved with a group or activity outside of Sunday services, and there are many to choose from! Joining a small group or ministry team is a great way to get to know others and feel a greater sense of belonging. We offer small group programs that allow deeper personal connections and spiritual reflection, including Spiritual Theme Circles and Chalice Circles (formerly Small Group Ministry).

We carry out our mission through ministry teams and committees which offer many opportunities to feed your soul and offer your gifts. We have a wide variety of opportunities to help with ongoing programs or one-time activities. Click here for more information about these opportunities to connect.

A great way to get up-to-date information about all of our programs, activities and special events is to subscribe to our weekly eNews and our quarterly newsletter, the Steeple
