What are Covenants?

Covenants are central to Unitarian Universalist communities. We don't have a creed, a set of beliefs, that we all need to accept to belong. But we do need something to hold us together in our freedom. Commitment and participation determine our boundaries. Rather than sharing a set of beliefs, we commit to shared values and how we will live out those values. We make promises to each other, covenants, that become the foundation of our faith communities.
